Cleanup Summary Volunteers: 151 Trash Picked Up:  1,460 lbs. Summary What a cleanup!  For the 2nd year in a row we had an amazing turnout for this event.  Denver sure knows how to show up for cleanup events!  The cleanup began with a slow drizzle but the clouds parted just long enough for us to get out on the South Platte and clean up without getting rained on.  After all was said and done, 151 total volunteers cleaned up over 1,460 lbs. of trash near the REI in Downtown Denver! Sponsors:  This year we boasted even more sponsors than last year!  A special...

4-6-19 Cleanup Summary   Cleanup Stats Volunteers: 63 Trash Picked Up:  10,000 lbs. Summary Bear down!  What a great time we had in Tucson this weekend.  There was plenty of work for us to do as this spot was a frequently used illegal dump site.  After about 2 hours of collection, we managed to fill up 1.5 40 yard dumpsters!  Although it got a little hot and sweaty, we all worked as a team to clear out tons and tons of debris littered throughout the area.  We also found a few critters, including one not-so-happy rattlesnake.  A huge thanks to all the...

Arizona Birthday Cleanup at South Mountain | Summary

The Event:      On February 16, we celebrated Arizona's birthday by picking up trash at South Mountain. This annual event had 466 Wild Keepers (This is what we call our volunteer community. Get more info here if you want to join in!). With so many people we were able to spread them out over the park. We cleaned up the areas around Scorpion Gulch and the Activity Center.  This is one of our biggest events of the year thanks to help from our business sponsors and Ranger Daniel Cooper. A total of 7,946 pounds of trash was removed from the wild. ...

Beardsley Canal Cleanup | January 26, 2019

The Event:  We recently connected with officials at Arizona State Trust Lands Department to host cleanups at illegal dumping sites. A grand total of 92 Wild Keepers showed up to haul out 14,620 pounds of trash. These particular cleanups are glamorous or in the most picturesque locations, but they definitely need our love just the same. Thank you to all our volunteers who showed up, rolled up their sleeves and did some heavy lifting! A special thanks also goes out to Four Peaks Brewery who showed up in force with a total of 11 employees.  Keep Nature Wild hosts cleanups across the US on a monthly...

Impact Friday at Lake Pleasant Cleanup | November 23, 2018

The Event:  We hosted our 2nd Annual #ImpactFriday Cleanup along the shores of Lake Pleasant, AZ. A grand total of 6,781 pounds of trash was removed thanks to the efforts of 364 volunteers.  “At this time of year the water begins to rise at Lake Pleasant and getting the beaches clean before the water level reaches it is vital,” says Park Supervisor, David Jordan.  The cleanup event had two goals: cleanup trash around the southern end of Lake Pleasant, and encourage people to get outside and give back on Black Friday rather than in stores waiting in lines.  It doesn’t...

Urban Trail Cleanup | Oct. 6, 2018

The Event:  We hosted a cleanup up in Flagstaff, AZ along the historic highway. Recently, we adopted a few spots within the Urban Trail System, so we always love an opportunity to get back up there and remove some trash from the wild! This weekend's haul included over 200 bags of trash, a bike, a porcelain sink, 4 suitcases and much, much more... all totaling over 4,650 lbs of trash! We absolutely loved getting to meet the 150 people that came out and cleaned up, and want to extend a thank you to each and every one of them for...

Canyon Glen Park Cleanup | Sept. 15, 2018

The Event:  Our first cleanup in Utah was a major success! It fell right in the middle of our big roadtrip through the state, which meant we got to do plenty of sightseeing and camping before picking up trash. We were joined by over 60 volunteers, and we removed over 750 pounds of trash from the Canyon Glen Park. One of our favorite parts of cleanups is getting to meet our Keep Nature Wild community in person, so it was awesome to bring our cleanup efforts to a new state. We will be back!    Sponsors:  A big shoutout to...
