A monthly celebration of community, connection, and caring for the outdoors.
IMPACT DAY
What is Impact Day?
If you've ever picked up a piece of trash on a hike, at the beach, or while walking through your neighborhood, you've already been part of what Impact Day is all about.
Every month, people in our community head outside and do small things that make a real difference. Some spend the day cleaning up with friends, while others simply toss a pair of gloves in their backpack so they're always ready if they spot litter.
Those moments happen every day and Impact Day is our chance to celebrate them together!
On the last Friday of each month, we invite everyone to share their cleanup on Instagram, log their impact, and spend a little time cheering each other on. It's a reminder that there are thousands of people who care about the same things you do, even if they're picking up trash on a different trail, in a different city, or on the other side of the country.
Why We Love Impact Day
One cleanup might not seem like much on its own. But then someone shares their cleanup from Oregon. Someone else posts from Florida. Another family spends an afternoon cleaning up a neighborhood park. Before long, your Instagram feed is full of people who believe the outdoors are worth taking care of. That's our favorite part!
Impact Day reminds us that none of us are doing this alone. It's a chance to celebrate the good that's already happening, encourage one another, and inspire someone else to grab a trash bag the next time they head outside.
How It Works
Get Outside
Head outside and spend some time wherever you love to explore. It could be a local trail, a neighborhood park, a beach, your favorite fishing spot, or even the sidewalk around your block. Every outdoor space deserves a little care.
Pick Up Litter
Bring a trash bag, it doesn't have to be a KNW trash bag (any bag will do!), and collect whatever litter you come across while you're enjoying the outdoors. There isn't a minimum amount to pick up, and there isn't a "right" way to do it.
Record Your Impact
When you're finished, let us know how much trash you collected. Logging your cleanup helps us track our community's impact and shows just how much is possible when people work together.
Share Your Adventure
Snap a photo or video along the way and when Impact Day rolls around on the last Friday of the month, tag @keepnaturewild and use #KeepNatureWild so we can celebrate your cleanup and inspire others to join in.
Who Can Participate?
Everyone! Whether this is your first cleanup or your hundredth, whether you're five years old or eighty-five, whether you have five minutes or five hours, there's a place for you on Impact Day.
Impact Day comes to life on Instagram. It's where we announce each month's theme, celebrate community cleanups, cheer each other on, and share stories from people making a difference in the places they love.
Follow @keepnaturewild and join us on the last Friday of every month.
Already Picked Up Trash?
Awesome! We'd love to include your cleanup in our community impact.
