Please sir, can I have S'more?

Please sir, can I have S'more?

Summer means s'mores around our house. Lots of them! Here is a list of some of our favorite variations and not so variations.

1. Classic S'more

Not a lot needs to be said here, some melty chocolate on a graham cracker with a perfectly browned marshmallow. It's as American as apple pie.

 2. Candy Bar S'more

For a fun twist, swap the chocolate bar for your favorite candy bar, we used Reese's peanut butter cups because peanut butter and chocolate are MFEO. (google it)

3. ChocChipCookie S'more

Turns out, they're not just for dipping in milk and watching the after school special! We sandwiched the marshmallow between a couple of soft chocolate chip cookies for a little bit of cookie sandwich heaven.

4. Brownie S'more

I never say no to brownies! Just like the cookie sandwich, it's a marshmallow sandwiched between 2 yummy brownies, or 1 cut horizontally if your brownies come super thick. Probably my kids' favorite variation. Add some salty caramel and you fancy.

 5. Backpackers S'more

Just because you have to carry everything on your back for hours doesn't mean you can't have a little indulgent treat while you're sitting around your campfire (or tiny stove). We broke a granola bar in half and used that for a surprisingly good and simple version of this campfire staple.

6. Strawberry Nutella S'more

Stick to the graham cracker here, but a healthy schmear of Nutella and some freshly sliced strawberries make the perfect companion to the warm gooey marshmallow.

7. Lemonburst S'more

So maybe you're one of the crazies who doesn't really love chocolate? I'm told such people exist. I found these delicious Meyer Lemon cookies that go perfectly with a warm marshmallow, and the never-to-be-understood craze of roasting starburst added a nice touch to this non-chocolate version.

8. Oreo S'more

Just twist, open, and add the marshmallow to the center for a delightful little campfire take on cookies and cream.

9. P.B.anana S'more

Another no chocolate version, although no less decadent. Slice a banana, spread some peanut butter and add a marshmallow. It's almost healthy enough to pass for lunch instead of dessert. Almost.

10. Choose Your Own Adventure S'more

The best part is watching my kids come up with the craziest of combinations! Too big to even fit in their mouth! But that didn't stop anyone from trying!

The truth is there is no 'best' way to do it! Even the name itself suggests 'more'. More of everything, more options, more creativity and more time eating and making memories around a fire!
