The KNW Story

Two Brothers (in-law), One Goal

Hi, I'm Cameron. My brother-in-law Sean and I, along with thousands of local doers, have sparked this movement. Here's our story.

As a former high school teacher and photographer, Sean and I have been fortunate enough to use our time off to adventure the southwest. We thought it would be fun to start a blog to document our hikes with family and friends. We began sharing our experiences via our site Arizona Hikers Guide and it quickly became a popular way for others to enjoy the wilderness as much as we did. After a few years of blogging and hosting outdoor group events, we developed an overwhelming sense of pride and love for our community and our state. We also realized others we met felt the same way. We began to feel an obligation to do more to protect our lands and to give back to the areas that we had been freely enjoying.

And so Keep Nature Wild was born.

The Mission

Our mission has remained the same since day one: Build communities by picking up trash outside. For every item you purchase, one pound of trash is physically picked up from the wild.  This is accomplished by;

  • Hosting monthly cleanup events to pick up trash. Click here to find out more about our cleanup efforts and how you can join.
  • Fostering an ambassador program, The Wild Keepers, which is a worldwide community that get outside and pick up trash. If you're interested in meeting like-minded people who are inspired by the outdoors, click here to find the group nearest you.
  • Using the power of social media to promote volunteerism and responsible outdoor recreation. Our partnerships allow us opportunities to get out into the wild and make a difference.

Lastly,

We just want to say thank you. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for caring. Thank you for taking action. We love what we do, we love our wilderness areas, and we love our community.  This work is worth doing, thank you for joining in on the fight to KEEP NATURE WILD!
